By looking for regions of the genome which to which there are high densities of matches, we can infer a segmentation of the genome into regions of biological significance. The methods in this package allow the simultaneous segmentation of data from multiple samples, taking into account replicate data, in order to create a consensus segmentation. This has obvious applications in a number of classes of sequencing experiments, particularly in the discovery of small RNA loci and novel mRNA transcriptome discovery. authors: - family-names: Hardcastle given-names: Thomas J. - family-names: Granjeaud given-names: Samuel email: samuel.granjeaud@inserm.fr orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9245-1535 preferred-citation: type: manual title: Methods for identifying small RNA loci from high-throughput sequencing data authors: - name: Hardcastle - family-names: J given-names: Thomas year: '2024' url: http://www.bioconductor.org/packages/segmentSeq notes: https://github.com/SamGG/segmentSeq/segmentSeq - R package version 2.39.0 doi: 10.18129/B9.bioc.segmentSeq repository: https://bioc.r-universe.dev repository-code: https://github.com/samgg/segmentSeq url: https://github.com/samgg/segmentSeq date-released: '2021-11-21' contact: - family-names: Granjeaud given-names: Samuel email: samuel.granjeaud@inserm.fr orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9245-1535 references: - type: article title: Methods for discovering genomic loci exhibiting complex patterns of differential methylation authors: - name: Hardcastle - family-names: J given-names: Thomas year: 18 September 2017 journal: BMC Bioinformatics doi: 10.1186/s12859-017-1836-0 url: https://doi.org/10.1186/s12859-017-1836-0
