Node labels, which can derive from gene expression, genome-wide association studies, protein domains or metabolomics profiling, are propagated to their neighbours in the network, effectively smoothing the scores through prior annotated knowledge and prioritising novel candidates. The R package diffuStats contains a collection of diffusion kernels and scoring approaches that facilitates their computation, characterisation and benchmarking. authors: - family-names: Picart-Armada given-names: Sergio email: sergi.picart@upc.edu - family-names: Perera-Lluna given-names: Alexandre email: alexandre.perera@upc.edu preferred-citation: type: article title: 'diffuStats: an R package to compute diffusion-based scores on biological networks' authors: - family-names: Picart-Armada given-names: Sergio email: sergi.picart@upc.edu - family-names: Thompson given-names: Wesley K - family-names: Buil given-names: Alfonso - family-names: Perera-Lluna given-names: Alexandre email: alexandre.perera@upc.edu journal: Bioinformatics volume: '34' issue: '3' year: '2017' doi: 10.1093/bioinformatics/btx632 start: '533' end: '534' repository: https://bioc.r-universe.dev contact: - family-names: Picart-Armada given-names: Sergio email: sergi.picart@upc.edu references: - type: article title: The effect of statistical normalisation on network propagation scores authors: - family-names: Picart-Armada given-names: Sergio - family-names: Thompson given-names: Wesley K - family-names: Buil given-names: Alfonso - family-names: Perera-Lluna given-names: Alexandre journal: Bioinformatics year: '2020' doi: 10.1093/bioinformatics/btaa896
