Given observational samples from a control experiment and non-control (e.g., cancer) for two genes A and B, we can compute differential causal effects with a (generalized) linear regression. If the causal effect of gene A on gene B in the control samples is different from the causal effect in the non-control samples the dce will differ from zero. We regularize the dce computation by the inclusion of prior network information from pathway databases such as KEGG. authors: - family-names: Jablonski given-names: Kim Philipp email: kim.philipp.jablonski@gmail.com orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4166-4343 - family-names: Pirkl given-names: Martin email: martinpirkl@yahoo.de preferred-citation: type: article title: Identifying cancer pathway dysregulations using differential causal effects authors: - name: Jablonski - family-names: Philipp given-names: Kim - name: Pirkl - name: Martin - name: '''Cevid' - name: Domagoj - name: B"uhlmann - name: Peter - name: Beerenwinkel - name: Niko journal: Bioinformatics year: '2021' doi: 10.1093/bioinformatics/btab847 url: https://doi.org/10.1093/bioinformatics/btab847 repository: https://bioc.r-universe.dev repository-code: https://github.com/cbg-ethz/dce url: https://github.com/cbg-ethz/dce contact: - family-names: Jablonski given-names: Kim Philipp email: kim.philipp.jablonski@gmail.com orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4166-4343
