  "Description": "EventPointer is an R package to identify alternative\nsplicing events that involve either simple (case-control\nexperiment) or complex experimental designs such as time course\nexperiments and studies including paired-samples. The algorithm\ncan be used to analyze data from either junction arrays\n(Affymetrix Arrays) or sequencing data (RNA-Seq). In the\nlatter, EventPointer can work with annotated splicing events or\ncan build a splicing graph from the RNA-Seq reads and then\nidentify new and specific alternative splicing events. The\nsoftware returns a data.frame with the detected alternative\nsplicing events: gene name, type of event (cassette,\nalternative 3',...,etc), genomic position, statistical\nsignificance and increment of the percent spliced in (Delta\nPSI) for all the events. The algorithm can generate a series of\nfiles to visualize the detected alternative splicing events in\nIGV. This eases the interpretation of results and the design of\nprimers for standard PCR validation.",
