ProtoArray data. After preprocessing (background correction, batch filtering, normalization) univariate feature preselection is performed (e.g., using the "minimum M statistic" approach - hereinafter referred to as "mMs"). Subsequently, a multivariate feature selection is conducted to discover biomarker candidates. Therefore, either a frequency-based backwards elimination aproach or ensemble feature selection can be used. PAA provides a complete toolbox of analysis tools including several different plots for results examination and evaluation. authors: - family-names: Turewicz given-names: Michael email: michael.turewicz@rub.de - family-names: Eisenacher given-names: Martin email: martin.eisenacher@rub.de preferred-citation: type: article title: 'PAA: An R/Bioconductor package for biomarker discovery with protein microarrays' authors: - family-names: Turewicz given-names: Michael email: michael.turewicz@rub.de - family-names: Ahrens given-names: Maike - family-names: May given-names: Caroline - family-names: Marcus given-names: Katrin - family-names: Eisenacher given-names: Martin email: martin.eisenacher@rub.de year: '2016' journal: Bioinformatics volume: '32' issue: '10' doi: 10.1093/bioinformatics/btw037 url: http://bioinformatics.oxfordjournals.org/content/early/2016/02/17/bioinformatics.btw037 start: 1577-1579 repository: https://bioc.r-universe.dev url: http://www.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/mpc/software/PAA/ contact: - family-names: Turewicz given-names: Michael email: michael.turewicz@rub.de - family-names: Eisenacher given-names: Martin email: martin.eisenacher@rub.de
