Therefore, there is a critical need to better understand the functional impact of these CpG methylations and to further prioritize the significant changes. MethReg is an R package for integrative modeling of DNA methylation, target gene expression and transcription factor binding sites data, to systematically identify and rank functional CpG methylations. MethReg evaluates, prioritizes and annotates CpG sites with high regulatory potential using matched methylation and gene expression data, along with external TF-target interaction databases based on manually curation, ChIP-seq experiments or gene regulatory network analysis. authors: - family-names: Silva given-names: Tiago email: tiagochst@gmail.com orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1343-6850 - family-names: Wang given-names: Lily email: lily.wangg@gmail.com preferred-citation: type: article title: 'MethReg: estimating regulatory potential of DNA methylation in gene transcription' authors: - name: Silva - family-names: C given-names: Tiago - name: Young - family-names: I given-names: Juan - name: Martin - family-names: R given-names: Eden - name: Chen - family-names: Steven given-names: X - name: Wang - name: Lily journal: Nucleic Acids Research year: '2022' issn: 0305-1048 doi: 10.1093/nar/gkac030 url: https://doi.org/10.1093/nar/gkac030 notes: gkac030 repository: https://bioc.r-universe.dev repository-code: https://github.com/TransBioInfoLab/MethReg/issues/ commit: aeb2a7e48104729256e2d54db07a56f0c8b20ae5 url: https://github.com/TransBioInfoLab/MethReg/issues/ contact: - family-names: Silva given-names: Tiago email: tiagochst@gmail.com orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1343-6850
