The approach produces a matrix of corrected expression for which the dependency between sequencing depth and the full distribution of normalized expression; many existing methods aim to remove only the dependency between sequencing depth and the mean of the normalized expression. This is particuarly useful in the context of highly sparse datasets such as those produced by 10X genomics and other uninque molecular identifier (UMI) based microfluidics protocols for which the depth-dependent proportion of zeros in the raw expression data can otherwise present a challenge. authors: - family-names: Brown given-names: Jared email: brownj@ds.dfci.harvard.edu orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9151-4386 preferred-citation: type: article title: Normalization by distributional resampling of high throughput single-cell RNA-sequencing data. authors: - family-names: Brown given-names: Jared email: brownj@ds.dfci.harvard.edu orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9151-4386 - family-names: Ni given-names: Zijian - family-names: Mohanty given-names: Chitrasen - family-names: Bacher given-names: Rhonda - family-names: Kendziorski given-names: Christina journal: Bioinformatics. year: '2021' doi: 10.1093/bioinformatics/btab450 repository: https://bioc.r-universe.dev repository-code: https://github.com/JBrownBiostat/Dino commit: c9c0971bd4690c573af7161f763ebe556a02983c url: https://github.com/JBrownBiostat/Dino contact: - family-names: Brown given-names: Jared email: brownj@ds.dfci.harvard.edu orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9151-4386
